Our software algorithm; Biomechanics Analysis Engine is a technology enabler, instead of merely a motion analytics tool. It has Dual Mode; the ability to recreate virtually the biomechanics characteristics of different body joints for clinical or sports science purposes.

The solution is simple and elegant. Only comprise of a single wearable device for clinical application, and up to 3 wearable devices for high performance sports. All the applications derived from the same Biomechanics Analytics engine, which is highly scalable to different parts of the body to suit additional use-cases.

ADVANCE GAIT MODEL

The Advance Gait Model (a variant of the Biomechanics Analytics Engine) track the trajectory of 4he sensor at ankle; to extract the real-time 3D biomechanics analysis of the walking gait or during fall.

This Advance Gait Model is capable of recognizing various patient environment; on-bed mode (shuffling on-bed, exiting out of bed), to off-bed mode (walking, leg swing etc). The Advance Gait Model greatly enhances the awareness of the patient's motion context not only in preventing falls, and also the biomechanics status of the patient, anytime/anywhere.

CURRENT NEEDS

Comparing typical Sport Tech devices focus primarily on outcome based measurement, e.g. cadence, number of steps, speed etc. Even high-end systems are limited to such mesurement, but with higher accuracy.

Instead, we extract high-grade biomechanics characteristics from the dominant joint. S that you or your coach can derive direct and actionable goals to enhance performance. All these without additional fixtures or ground equipment setup.

HOW IT WORKS

To effectively capture the motion dynamics of a body during high-performance sports, the optimal wearable device forms a "triangle" of sensors. Extending from the "Center of Mass" to the left/right dominant joints. This "triangle" of sensors is the driving force behind our Biomechanics Analytics Engine by providing:

1. The overall body acceleration or power profile

2. Biomechanics of the left/right dominant joints

3. Correlation between body acceleration and the left-right dominant joint

4. Analyzing the energy transfer from the dominant joint biomechanics in order to derive the overall performance efficiency

Our Biomechanics Analytics Engine focus on capturing the biomechanics characteristics on the movement in real-time. This is in contrast to traditional method of using motion analytics techniques.

The biomechanics feature is primarily driven by the unique ability to compute the adjacent joint motion. In the walking figure with sensor at the ankle, the green line tracking the ankle, while simultaneously computing the blue line tracking the knee. The Biomechanics Analytics Engine, essentially recreate a continuous real-time virtual biomechanics model of 2 joints.

Applying Biomechanics data, the algorithm's gesture recognition accuracy is greatly enhanced. Which is necessary to detect fall or other bed-exit activities. Thus providing much greater insights than merely a motion analytics tool.
